We as civil servants should set an example

According to him, today's trip to the North Jakarta Mayor's Office began by riding a folding bike from the Mayor's official residence on Jalan Janur Elok II, RW 06, Kelapa Gading Barat Urban Village to Sunter Kelapa Gading Bus Stop.

His trip continued using the Transjakarta Bus Corridor 10 on the PGC - Tanjung Priok route, alighting at North Jakarta Mayor's Office Bus Stop.

Civil Servants Using Public Transport Must Report with Timestamp Every Wednesday

"I ride a bike and also exercise, because we have the North Jakarta Rebo Pagi Walk (JU Bogi Walk) program for all civil servants every Wednesday," he expressed, Wednesday (4/30).

He really enjoyed the trip using public transport this morning. Besides being healthy, he could also chat with other passengers and encourage people to continue using public transportation.

"Using public transportation should not be forced, but we as civil servants should set an example. Because the Government has provided very comfortable public transportation facilities," he explained.

He added the Jakarta North Human Resources team was also on standby at the entrance of the North Jakarta Mayor's Office, to ensure that civil servants use public transportation.

"Exemptions for those who receive discretion such as sick employees, pregnant employees, or those on field duty like Satpol PP," he explained.

"Let's socialize and encourage the community to use transportation modes, including on other days. Hope this can be maintained, let's live healthily," he added.

While, North Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Juani Yusuf admitted he took the Transjakarta bus. The trip from his residence started by taking the Transjakarta Corridor VI at Duren Tiga Bus Stop and continued with other corridors until the North Jakarta Mayor's Office Bus Stop.

"This morning, I left home for work using the Transjakarta bus. Despite I had to transit a few times, it was definitely very enjoyable," he admitted.

He added the use of public transportation is a strategic step in addressing the issues of traffic congestion and air pollution in Jakarta.

This policy is not just a change in routine, but a concrete step in building a new culture in urban mobility.

"This will be the seed of a bigger movement, where the wider community will be inspired to choose public transportation more in their daily activities," he said.
